Education of famous Entrepreneurs in India
Why Indians preferring to learn from Abroad
Sundar Pichai said in a conversation in SRCC College, University of Delhi. "For me, I think the way.... as you said Indian strong education system and there is a culture of valuing education which is phenomenal. I think the way in which we could move forward would be for me, if I look at what is needed to solve the next generation of problems creativity is an important attribute, encouraging more creativity through the educational system, today do our education system values rigorous academic knowledge. Being more creative in approaching education is important and another thing I would say is, I've seen in the US best schools and etc which is very experiential and very hand zone. People learn how to do things by doing them and not just by learning about them. It's a big big difference so allowing in a system which allows lot more creativity, learning how to get things by hand and much more project based experiential learning all these thing transformations in which the Indian education system needs to adapt and also important to teach students to take risks, making sure the system has been allied to take risks those things can make the change."
Just 120 seconds conversation holds the whole education system trouble shoot. If we look at the current numbers, between 0.7 to 1.5 million engineering graduates getting certified every year. Since the top IT companies target best colleges in India, according to India today's report only 18.43% engineers just in top colleges were skilled enough to work and only 3.21% engineers were suitable for product work.
The pressure on students due to lack of jobs leading to commit suicide!. In the Coding world, most of the Indian Engineers don't have sufficient skills to survive. Even though we have government initiatives like skill India, it largely concentrating on basic skills in industries like textiles.
The current generation courses like Big data, Artificial Intelligence, Cloud computing, Chat bots, Machine learning and Nano technology etc become the tough task for Indians. Even though we are increasing the number of colleges it seems we have to look deeper into its qualities like the syllabus, the way of teaching and how it's reaching to students.
We can do a lot by getting feedback's from both students and Lectures. We do have enough technology to improve the gap between students and lectures, institutions and government and so on.. We can use smart materials like virtual reality headphones to explain the concept deeply.
In my experience, most of the so called best colleges give hard training spending a long time in a day. I have seen students learn out of pressure from parents and neighbors. Moreover, students lack decision-making skills as we can see most people follow "either doctor or engineer" culture.
